This specimen consists of a sliver of genuine native iron (natural but not Telluric) embedded and preserved in a beautiful piece of volcanic glass. It was apparently exposed by natural cracking of the glass. It is still magnetic. You can see orange staining within the glass indicating partial oxidation. XRF analysis confirms native iron but the area analyzed was larger than the iron so the glass also shows up in the results. One of a kind.
